Swinton Park is nestled in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside near the market town of Masham, just outside the city of Ripon. It’s easiest to reach by car, with plenty of parking available on site. From the A1(M), take the exit for Ripon (A61), then follow signs for Masham (A6108). From Masham, follow local signs to Swinton Park. The postcode for sat nav is HG4 4JH.

For guests travelling internationally via London, it is often convenient to take a short connecting flight from Heathrow to either Newcastle International Airport or Manchester Airport. Both routes are served by regular domestic flights and take just over an hour. Newcastle is the closest option to Swinton Park Hotel (approximately a 1–1¼ hour drive), while Manchester—although slightly further at around 1¾ to 2 hours by car—offers a wider choice of flight times.

From either airport, taxis and car hire are readily available for the onward journey to the hotel. Alternatively, travel from London Heathrow Airport to Swinton Park Hotel can be done by train or car. The quickest route is to take the Heathrow Express or the Elizabeth Line into central London, then travel from London Kings Cross Station to Northallerton railway station on a direct LNER train (around 2 hours). From Northallerton, the hotel is approximately a 25–30 minute taxi journey.

If you prefer to hire a car, the journey takes around 4 to 4½ hours, depending on traffic, via the M1 and A1(M).

If you're travelling by train, the nearest stations are Thirsk (approximately 25 minutes by taxi) and Northallerton (approximately 35 minutes by taxi), both of which are well connected on mainline routes from London Kings Cross, York and the North.

Taxis are readily available from Thirsk, Northallerton, Darlington and Newcastle, and we recommend pre-booking where possible, particularly for weekend travel.
